Company Description

In India, alexa.com reports youTube.com as 5th most visited website. This is a clear indicator of acceptance of video content online among Indian audience.
Service Description
For Advertisers
Advertisers using the Jivox platform will be able to deliver their advertising to an audience that can be micro-targeted using geographic, demographic and contextual parameters.
A self-service model enables advertisers to create and place ads without necessarily going through the expense and effort of working with advertising and/or creative agencies. Ads can be created using templates and advertiser
content using an interactive and easy to use ad builder. Existing advertiser content such as still images and text can be easily repurposed into compelling video advertisements via the ad builder. In addition if advertisers require a more
custom design, these can be created via affiliate offshore design resources.
Advertisers can create direct response advertising campaigns by incorporating promotions into their ads – making them interactive and compelling for users to click on. For small and mid-size business this is an excellent way to drive traffic to their web sites and stores.
The Jivox advertising platform includes comprehensive and detailed reporting capabilities that allow advertisers to continuously refine their advertising program for maximum impact.
For advertisers, Jivox lowers the costs of advertising in two ways:
1) Production of video ads is free, the typical cost of producing a video ad ranges from $15,000 to $20,000
2) Small campaigns can be created to test effectiveness or to target microaudiences thus avoiding the large block purchases required for most video advertising today.
For Publishers
Jivox provides technology that enables publishers to monetize content on their sites via video advertising. Video advertising has greater impact on consumers, is more effective than banner advertising and therefore generates much higher
CPM and CPC rates for the publisher while dramatically expanding ad inventory by opening up in-stream ad spots.
Publishers can incorporate video advertising into their sites with a simple javascript change to their site (similar to embedding a YouTube video). Most sites can begin serving video ads via the Jivox platform within a few hours of signing up as a publisher.
Jivox’s dynamic ad-matching ensures that publishers reduce their unsold inventory and can do so dynamically based on demand for their inventory.
Jivox will share a percentage of revenue from the advertisers with the publishers.
Proprietary Technology
Jivox proprietary technology includes the following:

1) Self-service advertising portal that enables advertisers to create their own ads using an ad builder wizard and audio, image and video templates or user generated content (e.g. digital photos, video clips). The ads can be
created, previewed and placed immediately
2) Micro-targeting algorithms that can accurately target and deliver ads to an audience based on geographic, demographic and contextual information about the user and content
3) Ad serving technology that is incorporated into the Adobe Flash Player platform and enables ads to be served to any site using Flash Player with minimal changes to the site and infrastructure
4) Proprietary ad pricing and auctioning algorithms that match ads to publishers based on relevance as well as price and inventory availability

The product wwas formally launched in March 2008 and the Jivox Video Network now reaches more than 40 million viewers.
Jivox was founded in 2006 by Diaz Nesamoney, a very successful Silicon Valley Entrepreneur. Diaz’ first company Informatica went public in 1999 and is now a $400M public company, his second venture Celequest was acquired by Cognos Corporation in 2007.
Jivox is headquartered in San Mateo (California, USA) with development office in Bangalore (India) and sales offices in Delhi (India) and Mumbai (India).
Market Opportunity
Video content online is growing by leaps and bounds. Internet video streaming currently accounts for over 30% of internet traffic and is growing rapidly due to the growing availability and use of video content online. The content includes user generated content, movies, TV shows, news footage and special interest videos such as exercise, health, travel, cooking etc.
This trend reflects the way consumers now get their entertainment, news and information about a variety of topics as they are starting to spend as much time in front of their PCs as they do in front of TV, especially consumers in the age bracket between 19 and 29.
Advertisers are attracted to the internet due to the demographic, lower cost, higher impact, higher ability to target and the opportunity for interactive/direct response advertising.
iSuppli predicts the internet TV/video market to grow from $779.2M to $26.3bn by 2011.
Video advertising will follow this trend, with advertising research firm eMarketing predicting that internet enabled video advertising – today a $410M market will grow to over $4.3bn in 2011. Forrester predicts the market will grow to $7.1bn by 2012.
